Web Hosting Administrator/Manager

Our web hosting business is expanding and we're looking for someone to help it grow. This is a great opportunity for a technical person with some entrepreneurial spirit. You will streamline sysadmin tasks, develop new hosting services to offer customers and will be involved in the creation of new self-serve web hosting applications.

You must have in-depth experience managing Windows and Linux web networks. Strong Operational/Management and communication skills are a must. You will be working with numerous remote contacts. At times your role will be very visible: you will be trusted with representing the hosting side of our business. You may be called upon to expand the hosting department.

You will also be responsible for our office LAN, and be involved in selection, purchase, installation and support of new LAN software/hardware. Our office is in Boulder Creek, CA, with additional web hosting machines located elsewhere.

This position may start as part-time, but you will also be expected to be able to be on-call (ie at 3am) in emergencies. Work will be both in-office and telecommute.

Required experience:

• 2+ years managing Windows and web-server Linux networks and server applications
• Sysadmin scripting skills
• Proven troubleshooting skills
• Proven operational/management skills

Big pluses:

• Experience in the web hosting business
• Experience with administration of: Helm (or other hosting control panel apps), SmarterMail, SendMail, Mailman, MS SQL Server, MySQL, ASP.NET, Cold Fusion, PHP
• Software/Web development experience: ASP.NET (C#, VB.NET), Cold Fusion, PHP
• Configuration Management experience
• Firewall, cluster, load balancer configuration experience
• Contract review/negotiation experience

C#/ASP.NET Software Engineer

We are looking for an ASP.NET/C# engineer to participate in new projects and maintain and enhance existing applications. You must have excellent communication skills (some team members may be at remote locations) and work well in a team. Position may be contract-based to start.

Most of the applications that we work on are mission critical, therefore you must have a proven track record of working on medium to large sized systems and writing rock solid code. Experience with multiple technologies and programming languages a plus.

You will be asked to be inventive in your solutions and will have the latitude to do so. We are looking for people who are both bright and thoughtful. Sense of humor helps, too.

Required experience:

• 2+ years C#/ASP.NET experience
• 2+ years working with Javascript (we're into AJAX) and CSS
• 2+ years MS SQL Server (or other RDBMS) experience
• 5+ years software/web development experience or computer science background

Pluses:

• 1+ year experience with .NET web services and/or SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
• Unit/load testing experience
• OO/DB system design/architecture experience
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development lifecycles
• Familiarity with O/R (object-relational) mappers (LLBLGen, Hibernate, etc)
• XML/XSLT experience
• Flash / ActionScript experience
• Good UI design skills (big plus, but not necessary)
• VB.NET / C++ experience

Even more pluses:

• Network/Server administration skills (Windows and/or Linux)
• Ability to write great documents
• Good grasp on XHTML

Cold Fusion/SQL DB Software Engineer

We are looking for a Cold Fusion / SQL Database engineer to participate in new projects and maintain and enhance existing applications. You must have excellent communication skills (some team members may be at remote locations) and work well in a team. Position may be contract-based to start.

You must be very good at reading and working with source code from small to medium sized Cold Fusion applications (ranging from CF4.x to the latest versions of MX), written in a variety of coding styles. Strong SQL database skills (db design, stored procs, index/query tuning) are required, preferably MS SQL Server.

Big pluses: Experience performance tuning high-traffic, db-driven Cold Fusion applications. Experience migrating Cold Fusion applications to ASP.NET via re-writes. Good UI design abilities and a sense of humor help, too.

Required experience:

• 2+ years Cold Fusion experience
• 2+ years MS SQL Server (or other RDBMS) experience
• 4+ years web development experience

Pluses:

• ASP.NET / C# / VB.NET experience
• Advanced experience with CSS/Javascript (we're into AJAX)
